After Aamir Khan, actress Alia Bhatt has come under the radar of netizens. A certain section of people on Twitter has demanded to boycott her upcoming Netflix film ‘Darlings’ for promoting domestic violence against men. This sudden outrage on social media poured in after some scenes in the film showed Alia’s character beating and torturing her on-screen husband Vijay Varma. Netizens are lashing out at the actress while urging everyone to boycott her film.

Many users asserted that ‘Darlings’ promotes and normalises domestic violence against men. #BoycottAliaBhatt is trending on the micro-blogging site with twitterati saying that they will not tolerate domestic violence against men. Sharing the scene from the film, one user tweeted, “Everyone should #BoycottAliaBhatt for making a misandrist movie like Darlings. For bollywood, domestic violence on men is a matter of joke. Pathetic.” Another wrote, “#BoycottAliaBhatt is trending  at all India level. We will not tolerate domestic violence against men. It also stars Vijay Verma and Shefali Shah in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release on August 5 on Netflix and Alia is currently busy promoting the same.
